Who We Are

Thank you for your interest in New Hope Community Church! Here is a little bit of information to get you more acquainted with us.

Our Vision

We are a small community with big ambitions for God’s Kingdom. Jesus teaches that His Kingdom is like a mustard seed. How, even though it is the smallest seed in the garden, it grows larger than the other garden plants and its branches become a resting place for others (Matt 13:31-32).

That is our vision. Even though we are a small community, God uses us to spread our branches to provide peace and rest for those suffering from the harshness and brokenness of the world. Our goal is to get people connected with God and His Kingdom so that they can learn a better way of life — an eternal life in Paradise.

God also promises that those who follow Him will become like trees firmly planted by streams of water. Their leaves do not wither and in all they do, they prosper (Psalm 1).

Our desire is to see you become that sort of tree. But that can only happen by the grace of God when we diligently seek His ways in the context of community. We are a people that love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We grow together as we grow closer to God and we serve those who are weary and burdened. I hope that you will join us in God’s Kingdom as we make Paradise a reality on earth.

Our Calling

Here at New Hope our mission is to help make the Kingdom of Heaven a reality in the lives of the people we disciple. Our desire is for people to become who God has created them to be. We work towards this by training them how to BE DISCIPLES, BE WORSHIPPERS, and BE BLESSINGS in the Kingdom of God. Our vision is for everyone at New Hope to grow in those three areas of being and to experience God’s Kingdom in the here and now.

BE DISCIPLES: "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people."  Matthew 4:19

In order to help people grow in becoming disciples we encourage participation in our Discipleship Groups. It is within these groups where much of church life happens. It is where people can really connect on a personal and spiritual level. It is where you can explore what practical implications following Jesus has on your life. And it is where you will find support, encouragement, and accountability.

BE WORSHIPPERS: "You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." Mark 12:30

Both the Sunday morning worship service and the Discipleship Groups are essential in helping people become worshippers of the One, True God. Although we call the Sunday service a "worship service" (which it is), it is also a sort of training grounds to help train you on how to be a worshipper throughout your week. Our goal is not for you to be a worshipper one day a week. We want you to know the joy of being a worshipper EVERYDAY.

BE BLESSINGS:

In Genesis 12:2 God told Abraham: "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing."

Truly, we have been blessed by God so that we will be a blessing to others. The most significant way that we have embodied this is through our food ministries. Our Food Pantry serves the surrounding community by meeting a physical need and treating people with dignity. We also have Blessing Bags that are designed to provide an easy meal to those living on the streets.

We Believe

  • in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, who was both fully God and fully man.
  • in one God, three persons of one substance; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible and without error in its original form.
  • in the Holy Spirit who lives within us, giving us the power to live a holy life.
  • that man was created in God’s image, but because of Adam’s sin, is depraved.
  • that Christ died on the cross so that by faith in Him we are given salvation.
  • that good works show evidence of our faith in Christ.
  • in the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
  • that sanctification is the work of God in the life of the believer.
  • the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers for building up the Church.
  • in the personal return of Christ to receive His believers into eternal life.
